About Crystal P.

Comedienne Crystal P. enjoys putting love and laughter in the hearts of many. With an in-your-face style of comedy, Crystal P. bakes up something sweet on stage to feed the funny bones of all those who will digest what she is serving.
While growing up in Royal Oak Township, always knew she wanted to be a part of the entertainment industry. That wasn’t too farfetched seeing that she was voted the Class Clown of her graduating class at Oak Park High School.
In 2004, persuaded by her best friend, Crystal P. fled Michigan to Los Angeles for an audition and ultimately got her feet wet on stage of the Laugh Factory and was bitten by the comedy bug. This was her confirmation that comedy was indeed her calling. She returned to Michigan and began hitting every stage imaginable.
A year later, Crystal P. was convinced to audition to be the opening act for Walter Latham’s P. Diddy’s Bad Boys of Comedy show at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. Her test was to compete against five other local comedians and make the listeners of FM 98 WJLB laugh via the radio airwaves. Crystal P. passed the test with flying colors taking 83% of the votes cast and earning the title, Royal Crown’s Crowned Comedian.
Another year went by and Crystal P. began receiving numerous phone calls encouraging her to compete to open for one of the Kings of Comedy, Steve Harvey, at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. In this competition, Crystal P. knocked off 75 of Detroit’s hottest and funniest comedians earning her the title Detroit’s New Queen of Comedy along with her first major paycheck. With the title, Crystal P. had enough credibility to be booked at many of the major comedy clubs, colleges, churches and private parties. She has performed in over 100 cities just in the state of Michigan, twenty-four states in the United States and has performed in Bermuda and Canada.
In addition to Steve Harvey, Crystal P. has also opened for “The Boss,” Diana Ross; Cece Winans; Stephanie Mills; Frankie Beverly & Maze; The Whispers; The O’Jays, Chaka Khan, Jeffrey Osborne, The Manhattans, Kirk Whalum, Kenny Lattimore, Enchantment, The Dramatics and many more. She has toured with Jonathan Slocumb’s Cuss-free Comedy Tour; the Laughalujah Comedy Tour and has been a repeat performer at Gilda’s Laughfest in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Crystal P. has appeared on Showtime at the Apollo, America’s Got Talent, Last Comic Standing and taped A Time to Laugh with Vickie Winans for B.E.T. Crystal P. lives by the motto: The purpose of life is to live a life of purpose. And she warns her audience to ensure their health insurance premiums are up to date because she won’t be responsible for the stitches they’ll be in!
